I have been working with families for over 25 years. Families can develop patterns of interacting that can cause a significant amount of stress, anger, and conflicts. Psychotherapy can be helpful to families in identifying patterns that may be causing disruption in the family. The focus of therapy is to develop new patterns that can help families interact positively and enjoy each other.
During the initial evaluation, background information is obtained from family members about home, school, work, friends, and extended family. At the end of the evaluation, family members will receive feedback on why their family may be struggling in one or more of these areas. Recommendations will be provided as to what may help the family develop additional skills to improve their functioning. Recommendations are tailored to each family’s strengths and challenges.
